Asbestose/en

Asbestosis is a collective term for illnesses that occur as a result of activities and work with or in the vicinity of materials containing asbestos. The term comes from the pension insurance for which all illnesses belonging to an occupational or material category are grouped together.

From a medical point of view, asbestosis conceals a multitude of illnesses with different causes and clinical pictures. The only common factor is that somewhere in the clinical picture the handling of asbestos occurs. In addition to the roofers who cut apart the Eternit plates with the Flex, the workers in the production of corrugated asbestos cement plates or brake linings also mention the wife of a worker in an asbestos cement plant who shook out her husband's work clothes every day as a victim of asbestosis and was thus able to inhale asbestos dust regularly.
