The term tumour (plural: tumours) is versatile. It is synonymous with swelling, enlargement, but also with ulcers, plants, etc..

Even in a normal inflammation, a local swelling develops as an inflammation symptom. These tumours are called non-neoplastic tumours because they arise from an accumulation of already existing plasma.

Tumoren, die aus der Ansammlung von neuem Plasma wie z.B. durch Zellvermehrung entstehen, werden als neoplastische Tumoren bezeichnet.

-Auch bei einer ganz normalen Entzündung entsteht als Entzündungssymptom eine lokale Schwellung. Diese Tumoren werden als nichtneoplastische Tumoren bezeichnet, weil sie aus einer Ansammlung bereits vorhandenen Plasmas entstehen.
