Cytoskeleton

Supporting and locomotor apparatus in the cytoplasm of all animal and plant cells; consists of different systems of structural proteins with the common ability to self-associate, i.e. to form thin protein fibres (filaments) and fine networks structuring the cytoplasm through the juxtaposition (polymerisation) of protein subunits.
