Adenosine Triphosphate, ATP

Adenosine triphosphate is a high-energy adenosine and the main energy carrier of the organism and is consumed in many reactions of the body.

Muscles, for example, need ATP to do their job. The ATP stored in all body cells provides the necessary energy. Depending on the load, different phases of the energy supply can be passed through.

The energy is released by splitting the ATP into ADP and phosphate.
