Angiotensin II

The substance formed by ACE from angiotensin I. Angiotensin II is the most potent vasoconstrictive effective and thus blood pressure-increasing substance in the body. A. also stimulates the release of aldosterone from the adrenal cortex and increases the activity of the sympathetic. A. is the most important substance for medium-term blood pressure regulation. The main task of angiotensin II is to increase blood pressure on three levels:

1. Verengung der Arteriolen über den Sympathikus

2. Verminderte Wasserausscheidung in den Nieren mittels Hormonen (ADH und Aldosteron)

3. Durstgefühl.

Diese Mechanismen haben das Ziel, den Blutdruck zu erhöhen.
