Cytoplasm

The basic substance of a cell, together with the smaller active units, the cell organelles.

If the cell organelles are removed by centrifugation, the product is called cytosol.

The slightly more viscous cytoplasm on the cell wall is called ectoplasm and the more liquid cytoplasm inside is called endoplasm.
