Vertebral Column

The spinal column consists of 32-34 vertebrae, namely 7 cervical, 12 thoracic, 5 lumbar, 5 sacral and 3-5 stunted coccygeal segments. It has an opening in its middle, the vertebral canal, in which the spinal cord runs.

Between two vertebrae, 31 branches of the spinal cord, which we call spinal nerves, run to the right and left. They continue into almost all areas of the body.
