Parathyroid Gland

The parathyroid glands (lat.: Glandulae parathyroideae) are two pairs of organs, one outside and one inside the thyroid glands. The organs, also called "epithelial bodies", form the parathormone, a hormone that leads to an increase in the calcium level in the blood.
