Abbreviated RR (after Riva-Rocci). The pressure that the heart has to generate for the circulation of all organs. In a healthy person it is between 120 and 80 mmHg in the body circulation. The blood pressure in the pulmonary circulation is about 20 to 8 mmHg. If blood pressure is elevated for a longer period of time (hypertension), the organ can be irreversibly damaged.
