Aortic bulb

Directly behind the aortic valve lying circular bulge of the aorta, in which the three pockets of the aortic valve in the systole come to rest. The three Sinus aortae (also called "Valsalva Sinuse") are the spaces covered in the systole by the three pockets of the aortic valve. They form in their totality the bulbus aortae.
