Ovaries

The ovaries - known in medical terminology as ovaries (from Latin ovaries) or oophorones (Greek egg carriers) - are the primary female sexual organ. As a gonad (gonads) it corresponds to the testicles of male individuals and is the place of production of the eggs and female sex hormones.
