In contrast to the irreversible bond, the bond can dissolve again with the reversible bond. This often happens when another substance - including drugs - has a higher binding to the plasma protein. Then the previous molecule detaches from the bond and can become pharmacologically active again, while the other substance is absorbed into the composite due to its higher binding to the plasma protein and becomes pharmacologically inactive.
