ADH inhibits diuresis by enhancing renal water reabsorption in the kidney collecting tube. ADH or vasopressin plays an important role in the regulation of osmotic pressure and fluid volume in the body. It concentrates urine by increasing the recovery of water from primary urine. It is excreted mainly at night and helps to sleep through the night without the need to urinate.
