ADH inhibits diuresis by increasing renal water reabsorption in the collection tube of the kidney. ADH or vasopressin plays an important role in regulating osmotic pressure and fluid volume in the body. It concentrates urine by increasing the recovery of water from primary urine. It is excreted mainly at night and helps to sleep through the night without the need to urinate.
