Isovolumic Contraction Phase

First part of Systole (0.05-0.1 sec) from the beginning of isovolumetric contraction with the valves closed until a ventricleinternal pressure is reached, which exceeds the blood pressure in the adjacent vessels and thus causes the opening of the pocket valves. This is followed by the expulsion phase.
