Isovolumic Contraction Phase
First part of Systole (0.05-0.1 sec) from the beginning of isovolumetric contraction with the valves closed until an internal pressure of the ventricle is reached, which exceeds the blood pressure in the adjacent vessels and thus causes the opening of the pocket valves. This is followed by the expulsion phase.
