Ventricle
Large cavity of the left and right heart formed by the strong muscle walls of the myocardium. The connection of the chambers to their respective smaller atria can be shut by the atrioventricular valve, the connection to the respective main vessel by the aortic valve (left), or the pulmonary valve (right).
