Adrenal cortex (NNR) as production site of steroid hormones. Besides the mineralocorticoids, which regulate the mineral metabolism (aldosterone), glucocorticoids are formed, which influence the carbohydrate metabolism, as well as small amounts of androgens and estrogens.
