Amino acid derivatives or amines (catecholamines such as adrenaline, noradrenaline and dopamine as well as thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3), serotonin and melatonin, etc.) originate from the amino acids tyrosine or tryptophan. These include the short-lived hormones and transmitters adrenaline, noradrenaline and dopamine. As water-soluble molecules, they are quickly decomposed again, so that they do not achieve long-lasting effects. In fact, it also makes sense that after a stress reaction in which adrenaline is released, the body can quickly return to a state of rest. A fat-soluble hormone would remain in the blood for a long time and the faster heartbeat and higher blood pressure would be maintained long after the panic.
