Blood Serum

The liquid part of the blood that remains after blood coagulation, in contrast to blood plasma without fibrinogen.

The part of the blood that is obtained as supernatant during centrifugation (the blood cells are collected in the other part). The serum contains water, minerals and trace elements and differs from blood plasma in the absence of clotting factors (mainly fibrin and finbrinogen).
