Cholecystokinin (CCK) stimulates by binding the production and secretion of digestive enzymes from the pancreas and causes a contraction of the gallbladder. CCK provides the ZMS with a physiological feeling of fullness and thus reduces the intake of food and calories.
CCK is inhibited by gastric emptying.
