STDs lead to very different symptoms, but the route of transmission is always similar.

They are caused by microorganisms that develop particularly well in the warm and humid environment of the mucous membranes of the genitals, mouth and rectum. They are not viable outside this milieu. During sexual intercourse there are ideal possibilities for the transmission of such microorganisms.

You can contract several venereal diseases at the same time. Although they are almost all curable except for herpes and AIDS, no immunity develops against them. One can therefore become infected again and again.

We distinguish between bacterial infections such as gonorrhoea, syphilis, chlamydia and viral infections such as papilloma, HIV and herpes.
