Invasion Phase

During the invasion phase, the tumour begins to grow rapidly. This is only possible if the tumour is supplied with blood. Using the tumor angiogenesis factor (TAF), a substance produced by the tumor cells themselves, nearby blood vessels are stimulated to form new capillaries - vascularization. The tumor with blood circulation now begins a phase of rapid growth.
