As a general rule, in emergency situations only known medications for which one has experience should be administered. In cases of cardiovascular depression, it should be noted that most drugs have a significantly altered distribution volume at low cardiac output. In such situations, medication should always be administered at low doses. Generally 1/3 of the usual dosage at the beginning is recommended. Follow-up injections are possible at any time, but too high a dosage can lead to unforeseeable complications.
