Mesothelioma

Mesotheliomas are carcinomas of the serous Skins of the lungs (pulmonary pleura, pleural mesothelioma) or of the abdomen (peritoneum, peritoneal mesothelioma). They are caused by the influence of asbestos (above all), glass fibres and other toxic influences. They can develop through only one inhaled asbestos fiber and have a latency period of up to 40 years.
