Metastasis Through Implantation

Tumor cell assemblies can also enter body cavities, "settle" there with gravity and implant at more distant sites. This type of metastasis can occur in the pleural cavity, in the peritoneal cavity and in the spinal canal. A well-known example of this metastasis pathway is the deposition of a gastric carcinoma in the ovaries.
