Pigment Cells

The pigment cells can phagocyte the outer sections of the photoreceptors, which are then constantly replicated. If this phagocytosis is disturbed, vision is impaired. In contrast to all other structures in the eye, the retina is nothing more than an advanced and flat-rolled part of the brain.
