Pharynx

The pharynx is an extension lined with mucosa following the oral and nasal cavity in humans and other vertebrates. It is thus part of both the digestive system and the respiratory system. The human pharynx is more curved than many other mammals, increasing the risk of "swallowing". The porridge and respiratory tract (oesophagus and trachea) separate at the larynx.
