Thrombocytopenia

Reduction of platelet count (< 150 000/μl = 150 G/l) in peripheral blood, either as a result of reduced platelet survival or as an educational disorder. As a rule, spontaneous bleeding is only to be expected with platelet counts < 50 G/l.
