exocrine - similar to endocrine - to what environment glands release their Secretion. Exocrine glands such as sweat glands or the prostate release their juices to the surface of the body or the gastrointestinal tract, which is not counted as part of the body. The glands that release into the urogenital system also fall under the term "exocrine", as the juices are ultimately not released into the interior of the body. Other examples of exocrine secretion are pancreatic juice, male seed or saliva.
