Stomach Wall

The stomach wall has several functions:

• Special glandss produce a very acidic juice for digesting the food in the stomach, which could also attack the stomach wall. * Therefore, a protective mucus barrier is built up by the stomach mucosa, which prevents the self-digestion of the stomach wall.
