The NYHA classification is a scheme for classifying heart disease originally published by the New York Heart Association.
A distinction is made between NYHA I, NYHA II, NYHA III, NYHA IV.
It is most commonly used to divide heart failure into different stages according to the patient's performance, and there are also adaptations to other diseases such as pulmonary hypertension. Different versions and translations of the NYHA Classification may differ slightly in wording.
