Ruffini Body

The Ruffini corpuscle belongs to the stretch receptors (proprioceptors in our skin. For example, the help of the proprioceptors allows us to balance by giving feedback to the stellar reflexes in our spinal cord from many places in our muscles, tendons and tissues about their length or stretching. Our brain, too, uses these receptors to make us aware, for example, of the position of our limbs in space, even if we have closed our eyes.
