Intima (Tunica intima)
Innermost layer of the vessel wall of artery, vein or larger lymphatic vessels. It consists of an internal epithelial cell layer, which has a connective tissue layer. Depending on the vessel type, layers of muscular or elastic fibres follow outwards.
